About Us

"But because God was so gracious, so very generous, here I am. And I’m not about to let his grace go to waste ... It was God giving me the work to do, God giving me the energy to do it. "

1 Corinthians 15:10

Adventure   •  Photography  •  Jesus

We were created to connect with others and with God. Photography is my catalyst for connection.

I have been creating art since I was young, but it was during my sophomore year at Biola University that I took my first photography class. I loved it! I could explore the world, enjoy God's creation, meet new people, and do what I was created to do! Life after college can be an exciting and soul-searching adventure. It certainly was for me! Three years later, I completed an intense career training program at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. Upon completion, I returned to Southern California, began my business that same month and have been loving my photography career every day since.

Luke worked with a high-end wedding photographer in Orange County during and after college for a few years until the other photographer moved out of state. He continued doing family portraits as a side job, though his passion is for photojournalism. In 2012, I called Luke to assist me with a wedding in Irvine. Continued work evolved into dating and then we got married in May 2016.

Our joint passion for adventure and photography is a perfect blend that encompasses a lot. Luke thrives on story-telling through the atmosphere and life of a city. I crave the great outdoors photographing landscapes, wildlife and macro photography of nature.

  • We are passionate about discovering new things: restaurants, activities, places and more. Groupon is wonderful for this. We've learned salsa dancing, fencing, hot air balloons, and more.
  • Luke is a huge movie buff, so the movie theater is a frequent date and topic of conversation (ask him just about anything movie related).
  • We are suckers for warm chocolate chip cookies and lattes!
  • Luke can sing and play the piano very well.
  • Cumulatively, we have been to over 32 countries!
  • We have been studying the Enneagram for the past year and half. Jen is a classic self-preserved 1w2 (aka, a reformer that like to help others and organizations/events improve). Luke is a social 9w8 (aka, the energetic peacemaker who is a perfectionist in his work).

  • Jen was a student ambassador from the age 12 - 16 through an organization named, People to People International. A program to help the youth of America develop an appreciation and understanding of other cultures. This is where her travel bug began.
  • Luke (an only child) travel a lot with his parents his entire life. They went to Mexico every year for his dad's work, Europe and around the US. He has been on 4 missions trips to Africa and Asia.
  • Most importantly, our faith is the foundations of our lives. We both grew up in solid christian homes and churches and both have a minor in biblical studies. While human and prone to mistakes, maintaining biblical integrity and the love of Christ in our lives and business is a high priority and a filter for all that we do.

Inspiration

We create because God first created the world and us. It is His creativity that flows through us and gives us the eyes to see what He wants to show us. It truly is like a treasure hunt when we walk out with our cameras in hand. Jennifer is drawn to the natural beauty in creation. Luke is drawn to the life, simplicity and complexity that unifies us as God's children.

Recent Adventure: Sedona

We celebrated our 5-Year anniversary in May 2021 with a trip to Sedona, AZ.  It was also our first long trip with Kodak. We had a lot of high hopes for this red rock playground. We crammed in a helicopter flight, wine tasting, massages, 4 long hikes, 2 short sunrise hikes, a scenic drive, self-photographed family portraits and lots of good food. Kodak did awesome on his first overnight hiking adventure!

Upcoming Adventure

Short weekend getaways are the goal right now. Being so close to Joshua Tree National Park, we take as many day trips as we can.

In the coming months, we'll be visiting Nashville at Christmas with the family, Galveston, TX for a 4-day New Year's wedding, and possible trip to back to Bahia De Los Angeles, Baja MX in early fall.
