It was a late August morning. Fall weather was approaching so the morning air was crisp; quite a change from the desert heat in Palm Springs, Ca. I, Jennifer, was on a mother-daughter weekend trip to Lake Tahoe to celebrate my birthday. After a day of hiking, it proved a little more difficult to get moving the next morning, but Mom was a trooper. We gathered our things and head out toward Emerald Bay in anticipation of a colorful sunrise. During these trips, I have been slowly teaching my mom photography. It's been a wonderful way to bond, she loves the adventure and gets so excited when she captures a keepable image.  This morning the water was so still, the trees hardly moved and sun was cozy and tucked in some clouds and not another person was in sight. It's hard to find a more peaceful way to start a day.
